The DawgHouse #188

Phil came across an amazingly rare 1898 De Dion-Bouton trike in the nearby suburbs in Maryland. Who knew there was an internal combustion trike in 1898?

Another reunion story! This time it might defy all odds as man stumbles upon a bike he sold 32 years earlier. But the ending is nearly as improbable the as accidental encounter with his long lost motorcycle. Watch the video below:

The Grand Prix moved on to Sepang, Malaysia this weekend with a lot on the line.

In Moto3 in miserably wet conditions Sandro Cortese clinched the Moto3 championship. The Malaysian’s were thrilled when Zulfahmi Khairuddin took the second spot. The podium was rounded out by Jonas Folger rounded.

In Moto2 Marc Marquez had an opportunity to wrap up the championship but the weather Gods wouldn’t cooperate. It was all-out monsoon at Sepang and the two championship leaders weren’t enjoying the wet track.  Pol Espargaro was stuck mid-pack for the entire race and Marquez wasn’t far ahead. But as the laps wound down Marquez went off the track ending his chance to wrap up his final season in Moto2 as the champ. Espargaro couldn’t take advantage of Marquez’s misfortune, finishing in 11th and only keeping the championship alive by 2 points heading to Phillip Island. Three riders, Alex de Angelis, Anthony West and Gino Rea battled for much of the race that was shortened due to the weather with de Angelis being declared the winner.

The MotoGP race wasn’t much better, weather-wise, than the Moto2 race, but while the track showed signs of drying by the middle of the race it didn’t last long as the skies opened back up with 10 laps remaining. After a brilliant qualifying Jorge Lorenzo took the early lead in the race and held that position till about mid-point in the race. Dani Pedrosa, displaying the patience he’s shown as the season progressed, tracked Lorenzo for the first 7 laps, then overtook Lorenzo and held the lead until the race was stopped with 7 laps remaining. Casey Stoner showed his physical condition is improving, but with the weather 3rd place the best he could hope for.
